  • 1 cup (240ml) hot water
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons dried butterfly pea flowers (or 5-7 dried flowers)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sweetener (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice (for color change, optional)
  • Ice cubes (for iced tea variation, optional)

  • 1 cup 240ml hot water
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons dried butterfly pea flowers or 5-7 dried flowers
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sweetener optional
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice for color change, optional
  • Ice cubes for iced tea variation, optional

Instructions
 

  • Boil Water: Heat 1 cup of water until it reaches about 190°F (90°C). Avoid boiling water as it may make the tea bitter.
  • Steep the Flowers: Add dried butterfly pea flowers to the hot water and let them steep for 5-7 minutes until the water turns a deep blue color.
  • Strain the Tea: Use a tea strainer to remove the flowers and pour the infused tea into a cup.
  • Add Sweetener (Optional): Stir in honey or any preferred sweetener if desired.
  • Enjoy as Hot Tea or Make it Iced:
  • For hot tea, serve immediately.
  • For iced tea, let the tea cool, then pour over ice cubes.
  • Experiment with the Color Change: Squeeze in some lemon juice to watch the blue tea turn into a vibrant purple.

Notes

For a stronger brew, steep for up to 10 minutes.
Mix with green tea or lemongrass for a unique twist.
Add mint leaves for a refreshing herbal flavor.
For a latte version, mix with warm frothed milk.
Store dried flowers in an airtight container to retain freshness.
